The most regal of reds. Rich, dark velvet red incurved petals with very large flowers that face upward. Has sidebuds that extend flowering season. Strong stems supports the plant even in the worst of conditions. Attractive foliage. Low maintenance plant. APS Gold Medal Award 1997 and Award of Landscape Merit 2009. Picture does not do justice to actual color.
